E. Wolfe & Co Founded
The Ewolfe & Company Workshop was founded in London by the Wolfe family.
“The Tiara Makers”
The business grew and it was during the 20th Century in particular that E. Wolfe & Co became a revered name in the jewellery trade. During this period the Company were renowned as “The Tiara Makers” creating more than a thousand tiaras.
Queen Alexandra’s Coronation
E. Wolfe were commissioned by Carrington & Company to make the Royal crown for Queen Alexandra’s 1902 coronation.
The Imperial Crown of India
E. Wolfe made the second of its Royal crowns; the Imperial Crown of India commissioned by Garrard and Company for the 1911 Delhi Durbar.
The Cambridge Lover’s Knot Tiara
The Workshop completed the Cambridge Lover’s Knot Tiara, often worn by Diana Princess of Wales.
First World War
The E. Wolfe Workshop were enlisted as soldiers during the First World War.
The Russian Fringe Tiara
The Russian Fringe Tiara was made for Garrard & Company worn by the Queen Mother and both Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Anne at their respective weddings.
The Cornelius Family
The last of the Wolfe family retired. The young jewellery designers who had been working for the company for the past sixteen years – William Cornelius and William Davies – seized the chance to buy the business. The Cornelius family has managed E. Wolfe & Co ever since and is today in its fourth generation.
Second World War
During the Second World War the Workshop was heavily involved in the war effort with the craftsmen working on the production of Spitfire airplane parts.
Today’s E. Wolfe & Co
Today, E. Wolfe & Co is widely respected for its experienced craftsmanship, executing bespoke orders, creating beautiful engagement rings and manufacturing its unique bird and animal jewellery.
